Richa is not only a brilliant scientist\, but also has a gift for simplifying complex ideas and making them relevant and engaging for all ages! \nDesigned for curious minds from age 5 to PhD\, “Understanding Our Home Through a Cosmic Lens\,” will explore the remarkable connections between the Sun\, space weather\, our planet and our everyday lives\, trace Richa’s journey in aerospace and shed light on careers in STEM. \nHow can an eruption on the Sun affect technology on Earth? What creates the aurora? How do we build machines sophisticated enough to survive launch and operate in space? And how can looking back at Earth from above help us understand—and better protect—the only home we have? \n🌎 Sometimes the best way to understand Earth is to look at it from somewhere else.\n—\n🔭 FROM CORNELL → NASA → SPACECRAFT ENGINEERING \nRicha will take us inside a world most of us never get to see: how spacecraft are actually imagined\, engineered\, built and sent into space!\nThrough stories from her own remarkable journey—from Cornell Engineering and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to her work today at BAE Systems—Richa will reveal the ingenuity\, curiosity\, collaboration and problem-solving behind exploring our universe. \n🚀 WE’LL EXPLORE:\n☀️ Our dynamic Sun — and the surprising ways solar activity and space weather can influence life and technology on Earth\n🛰️ How we build spacecraft — transforming ambitious scientific questions into machines capable of operating in one of the most extreme environments imaginable\n🌎 Earth from a new perspective — how observing our planet from space helps us understand its atmosphere\, ecosystems\, climate and interconnected systems\n💡 The power of curiosity — how asking extraordinary questions can lead to careers\, discoveries and possibilities we never imagined\n🎤 Ask Richa — an interactive audience Q&A for scientists and space enthusiasts of every age\n—\n🌲 CORNELL + LINCOLN HILLS CARES\nConnecting young minds with science\, nature and possibility. \nThis special THOUGHT LEADERS program brings Cornell alumni\, families and friends together with young people and participants from Lincoln Hills Cares\, an extraordinary Colorado nonprofit co-founded by visionary Cornellian and Denver native Robert F. Lincoln Hills Cares is helping develop the next generation of young leaders through outdoor and environmental education\, cultural history exploration and workforce advancement—creating opportunities for young people to experience nature\, explore environmental STEM\, discover new career pathways and see possibilities for their own futures. That makes this partnership especially meaningful. Richa’s work asks us to look outward toward the universe to better understand our planet. Lincoln Hills Cares invites young people to get outside\, experience that planet firsthand and imagine their role in its future. Together\, they make for one extraordinary afternoon of science\, exploration\, stewardship and possibility.\n—\n✨ CURIOUS MINDS WELCOME.\nFrom age 5 to PhD—and everyone in between.\nBring your kids.\nBring your questions.\nBring your curiosity.

SUMMARY:CC of Minnesota: Online Cornell Book Club -Oct/Nov 2026
DESCRIPTION:Are you a Cornell alumni in Minnesota looking to connect with fellow graduates through the love of reading? The Cornell Club of Minnesota’s Book Club offers the perfect opportunity to engage with like-minded alumni\, explore diverse literary works\, and build meaningful connections. \nWe meet on the second Wednesday of each month (typically virtually)\, and this book club welcomes 4-6 (and hopefully more) alumni readers for stimulating discussions that bridge the gap between your Cornell memories and current interests. \nHere are our upcoming book selections: \nTUESDAY 10/13/26 at 7:30 p.m. Central: The Agitators by Dorothy Wickenden (2021; 384p; takes place in Auburn\, NY\, and\nsouthern Cayuga County) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40538731-the-agitators \nTUESDAY 11/10/26 at 7:30 p.m. Central: The Ride of Her Life: The True Story of a Woman\, Her Horse\, and Their Last-Chance Journey Across America by Elizabeth Letts (2021; 336p) https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/55333765-the-ride-of-her-life \nWe also discussed (but did not finalize) various books about Cornell Alum (and fellow Clara Dickenson Hall resident) Ruth Bader Ginsburg\, possibly including one of the following: \nNotorious RBG by Irin Carmon (https://www.amazon.com/Notorious-RBG-Times-Bader-Ginsburg/dp/0062415832) \nMy Own Words by Ruth Bader Ginsburg (https://www.amazon.com/Own-Words-Ruth-Bader-Ginsburg/dp/1501145258) \n(We also discussed the RBG film On the Basis of Sex\, though that is just a good film without a corresponding book:\nhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OntheBasisofSex.) \nPlease e-mail Lucas Hjelle at lmh18@cornell.edu for more information. Enjoy the fall and keep up the great reading!

SUMMARY:Cornell Club of Colorado: Denver Zinck's Night
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nJoin Cornell alumni\, students\, families\, and friends for Colorado’s 2026 celebration of the International Spirit of Zinck’s Night. \nDate: Thursday\, October 15\, 2026\nTime: 5:30 -9:00pm\nLocation: Max Gill & Grill\, 1052 S. Gaylord Street\, Denver\, CO 80209 \n \nMax Gill & Grill has hosted Colorado Cornellians for Zinck’s Night before\, making it a fitting home for one of Cornell’s longest-running alumni traditions.  \nThis is a no-host event. Food and beverages are purchased individually\, and Max Gill & Grill will extend happy-hour pricing on food and drinks throughout the evening. \nZinck’s Night traces its history to Theodore Zinck\, an Ithaca saloon owner whose establishment became a favorite gathering place for Cornell students and alumni in the late 1800s. His name was immortalized in “Give My Regards to Davy” and its famous reference to returning to Theodore Zinck’s. Cornellians were forming Zinck Clubs as early as 1892\, while the modern Spirit of Zinck’s tradition began with Cornell seniors in 1973 and later grew into a worldwide alumni celebration held each October.\nMore than a century later\, the idea remains the same: bring Cornellians together\, reconnect with old friends\, meet new ones\, and celebrate the Big Red community. \nCome when you can\, stay as long as you like\, and join Cornellians across Colorado in keeping the Spirit of Zinck’s alive.
