The team kicks things off right at 10:00 am with safety info\, equipment introductions\, and a live demonstration. It’s way more enjoyable when everyone is there from the start.\nIf we have more than 20 participants\, the fun may run a bit longer — but that just means more time in the studio.\n\nFinding the Glass Annex \nBelger Arts has three locations\, so double‑check that you’re headed to the right one: 1219 East 19th Street\, Kansas City\, MO 64108 \nLook for the yellowish brick building marked Belger Cartage at 19th & Forest. Turn into the lot\, drive across the big open parking area\, and head to the building at the south end — the one with garage doors and red posts out front. That’s the Glass Annex! Park anywhere in front. \nPaperwork \nThere will be waivers and photo releases to sign when you arrive — quick and easy. \nPicking Up Your Finished Glass \nYour custom wine glass will be ready for pickup on March 27th. Before you leave the event\, let Stacy Wright know whether you’d like to pick it up at the Glass Annex or at her home in South KC near 119th & State Line. \n

SUMMARY:Mysterious Oil-Laden Debris off Florida
DESCRIPTION:Investigating the mysterious arrival of oil-contaminated debris washing ashore in Southeast Florida \nIn June 2020\, Southeast Florida beach clean-up groups noticed large amounts of trash covered in a black\, oily residue. Social media called it “TarTrash” with hashtags like #COVEREDINTRASH\, #TARCOVERED\, and #TOXICTRASH. Since no nearby oil spills were reported\, the source remained a mystery until oceanographers and chemists traced the oil back to a 2019 spill in Brazil. \nDon’t miss the chance to hear chemical oceanographer Chris Reddy explain how he led a team of scientists to solve this mystery and what it reveals about the threats of plastic pollution to the ocean. \nEvent Details:\nDate: Monday\, April 13\, 2026\nTime: 5:00-6:30 PM\nLocation: Room 507 of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Clark building – 360 Woods Hole Rd\, Woods Hole\, MA 02543 \nThe agenda is:\n5:00PM: Registration\, light refreshments and enjoying the panoramic view\n5:30PM: Talk\, followed by question period\n6:30PM: Adjourn \nIf there is enough interest\, we can gather afterwards for a no-host dinner at a local restaurant. \nPlease find the driving Map to the venue here. For driving instructions\, please check out this website. \nEvent Questions? Contact Ken Brink
