SUMMARY:CC of Chicago: Growing up in a Frank Lloyd Wright House
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin the Cornell Club of Chicago for a fascinating multimedia presentation by Kim Bixler (A&S ’91)\, who grew up the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Edward E. Boynton House (1908) in Rochester\, New York. Kim started giving tours when she was eight years old—sharing Wright’s architectural design details\, revealing her favorite hiding spots and dodging the habitually leaky roof. If you love reality home-renovating projects\, architectural tours and historical homes\, you’ll love this event. \nKim Bixler is the author of Growing Up in a Frank Lloyd Wright House and is featured in the PBS documentary Frank Lloyd Wright’s Boynton House: The Next Hundred Years. She has lectured at Wright sites across the country\, including Taliesin West\, Unity Temple\, the Darwin Martin House\, the Hollyhock House and many others. \nEnjoy socializing with fellow Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiasts after the talk at The Blackstone’s hotel bar – Mercat A La Planxa – for a cash bar social hour. This event has been made possible thanks to the generosity of Kim Bixler ‘91 and Edgar Navarro ‘03. \n Members of AIA Chicago can attend this talk to earn continuing education LU credit. \nDetails:\nDate: Tuesday\, April 14\nTime: 6:00 P.M.\nLocation: The Blackstone Hotel | 636 S. Michigan Ave. Chicago\, IL 60605\nCost: $10
