As we close out a weekend of celebration, the Cornell Club of Greater Philadelphia invites you to the Big Red Bear Down! In partnership with Fearless Restaurants, Sass-E Creative, and Atlis Real Estate Partners, we have a spectacular evening planned for you aboard the historic Moshulu on the Delaware River. Once a cargo vessel immortalized by the books of Eric Newby, the Moshulu is now owned by two generations of Cornell Hotelies.

Join us for an unforgettable night of fine dining, lively dancing, and stunning views of this majestic watercraft. The highlights of the evening include a gourmet dinner in the ornate State Room followed by dancing on the heated mid-deck!

The dining begins with hors d’oeuvres featuring spicy tuna starters, Korean chicken skewers, quinoa & zucchini fritters, and gluten-free vegetable empanadas. The night of fantastic dining continues with our dinner offerings of divine Philly cheesesteaks and a beautiful sushi selection of Yellowfin Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Eel Avocado, Shrimp Avocado, and Vegetarian Rolls. Additionally, we will have fresh pasta, and a vegan salad made in-house.

The Big Red Bear Down is a night of celebration you won’t want to miss, so come join 500 of your fellow Cornellians as we hoist our flag for all to see!

About Marty and Sydney Grims:
A recent grad of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Marty went on to open the #1 restaurant in Philadelphia—The Fountain Restaurant located in the Four Seasons Hotel. After two years, Marty was ready to pursue his own venture. Having grown up in the business as a third-generation restaurateur, Marty was never afraid to take a risk. And out of that fearless ambition, Fearless was born.

In 1985, at just twenty-five years of age, Marty opened his first restaurant, Taquet, and was featured on the cover of the New York Times. Over the next three decades, he opened a diverse collection of restaurants including La Fourchette in Wayne, PA, Taquet and Bravo Bistro in Radnor, PA, Passerelle, Tango Bar and Grill at the Bryn Mawr Train Station, Basil Bistro in Paoli and Du jour Café in Haverford Square and Philadelphia. In 2003, he purchased the Moshulu followed by Daddy O Restaurant Hotel and White Dog Cafe (University City) in 2009.

Marty’s daughter, Sydney joined Fearless as Director of Business Development in 2017, after working as Director of Hospitality for MacAndrew & Forbes in New York City. A fourth-generation restaurateur, Sydney brings a stylish, fresh approach and passion. Today, Fearless Restaurants operates more than 10 unique concepts between Greater Philadelphia and Long Beach Island, NJ.

Sydney’s Quote on CCGP’s meaning:
Cornell was a huge part of Marty and my life. It made us into the family business that we are today. We love being a part of the Cornell Club because it offers a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and continue building a strong sense of community and support that extends beyond graduation.
