SUMMARY:CAADFW: Economic Externalities- What Are They and Why Do They Matter?
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nDATE: Tuesday\, October 21\, 2025\nTIME: 6:15pm\nLOCATION: Union Coffee\, 3705 Cedar Springs Road\, Dallas\, TX\nCOST: General Alumni and Guests $15.00/ Young Alumni (2016-2025) $10.00 \nExternalities\, which are the imposition of costs or benefits from the consumption or production of goods or services onto third parties\, exist all around us. They stem from the reality that our actions and the actions of those around us affect those close to us\, like our family\, our neighbors\, and our communities; and sometimes those not close to us\, like strangers\, people in other communities\, and even people living halfway around the world. \nDrawing on examples from her economics research and observations from day-to-day life\, Cornell alumna and UT Dallas Associate Professor Anne Burton will show how externalities are everywhere and may affect your life in ways you may or may not have thought of before. Light refreshments will be served.\n\nParking is available.
