SUMMARY:Battle Road Bike Tour - Pedaling in Pursuit of the 1775 Minutemen
DESCRIPTION:Join Cornell alum Lauren Hefferon\, founder of Ciclismo Classico\, on a bucolic 20/32 mile bike ride that follows the battle path of the first military engagement that sparked the American Revolution. The ride starts at the Kick Stand Cafe in Arlington Center with stops along the path of battle taken on April 19\, 1775\, in Lexington\, Bedford and Concord. The shorter ride goes out to Bedford and back along the historic Minute Man Bike Trail. This Battleroad byway we pedal is lush\, lovely and bursting with history at every turn. There will also be photo stops at the Arlington Great Meadow\, and the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. This pedaling excursion includes a stop for restrooms\, water and snacks in Concord Center. Reasonably fit adults can manage this ride with well-tuned bicycles. Flat pedal bicycles\, upright handlebars\, baskets and streamers are welcome. Families with children 16 and older aboard multi-gear bicycles are welcome.
