In it, designer and leading DIY influencer Ben Uyeda \u201904, MArch \u201905, demonstrates how to make a pair of nesting side tables<\/a> using a bag of concrete, some water, and a pile of Legos\u2014which can even be reused afterward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUse pliers on the Lego bricks that get stuck,\u201d Uyeda explains as he disassembles the colorful form around which the concrete has hardened. \u201cBut be careful not to damage the bricks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The tutorial is one of hundreds that the AAP alum and his small team have posted on his eight-year-old YouTube channel<\/a>, HomeMade Modern, which has more than 1.5 million subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Uyeda\u2014who\u2019s based in Joshua Tree, California, and is sponsored by the likes of Home Depot and Ryobi power tools\u2014also offers detailed instructions for his creations on HomeMade Modern\u2019s website<\/a> and features the designs on his Instagram<\/a>, which boasts upwards of 300,000 followers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There\u2019s a video on constructing an outdoor sofa (7.1 million views); on making a wood-fired hot tub from a galvanized steel livestock trough (6.6 million); on transforming a shed into a solar-powered workshop (6.4 million); and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some require only basic hand tools, while others\u2014such as a \u201cfloating\u201d bed affixed to the wall (4.6 million views)\u2014call for more advanced equipment, like a welder and an angle grinder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"A](\"https:\/\/alumni.cornell.edu\/cornellians\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/2022_1092_Provided_0002-A-1024x669.jpg\")
