Buczek was Ivy League Player of the Year and a first-team All-American. He was a three-time, unanimous, first-team All-Ivy selection and was twice nominated for the Tewaaraton Trophy. Buczek graduated as the top scoring midfielder in Big Red history, ranking in the top 20 among all players for points, goals, and assists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After being the number-two pick in the MLL Collegiate Draft, he played seven years of pro lacrosse. Currently the Big Red men\u2019s head coach, he has led the team to four Ivy regular season titles, three NCAA tournaments, a pair of national championship games, and the 2025 NCAA title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bruno Hortelano-Roig \u201913, BS \u201914<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Men\u2019s Track & Field<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nAn NCAA All-American indoors in the 200 meters, Hortelano-Roig won five individual Heptagonal titles. He set Big Red records outdoors in the 200 and 400 meters and ranked third in the 100 meters. Indoors, he held school records at 60, 200, 300, and 400 meters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hortelano-Roig earned a spot for Spain at the 2016 Olympics in Rio\u2014after qualifying with a 10.06 personal record in the 100 meters\u2014and won gold at the 2016 European Championships. He established national records in the 200 and 400 meters; in the 2013 World Championships qualifying round, he posted a faster time in the 200 meters than Usain Bolt, the world\u2019s fastest man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brianne Jenner \u201913, BA \u201915<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Women\u2019s Ice Hockey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nA four-time first-team all-league selection in the ECAC and the Ivies, Jenner also earned first-team All-America honors. The two-time ECAC Hockey and Ivy Player of the Year graduated as the Big Red\u2019s all-time assist leader and second in career points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She won Olympic gold in 2014 and 2022 (and silver in 2018), earning tournament MVP after her nine goals tied an Olympic record. She has competed in 11 world championships\u2014winning four golds, six silvers, and a bronze. Jenner played professionally for nearly a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Danielle Letourneau \u201915<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Women\u2019s Squash<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nA fixture at the number-one position for women\u2019s squash, Letourneau was a four-time College Squash Association All-America first team selection and four-time All-Ivy first team pick. She advanced as far as the quarterfinals in the CSA Individual Championships in each of her final three years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Letourneau earned a pair of silver medals (in singles and doubles) at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, and played on the professional tour, achieving a national ranking of 18. She was the Canadian national champion twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stephen Mozia \u201915<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Men\u2019s Track & Field<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nMozia\u2014an eight-time All-American in track and field and a two-time Heps Most Outstanding Field Athlete\u2014set the all-time Ivy record in both the shot put and the discus. He also ranked in Cornell\u2019s top 10 in both the hammer throw and the 35-pound weight throw. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mozia represented Nigeria at the Continental Cup, the Commonwealth Games, and the African Championships (where he was a three-time bronze medalist). He competed in the shot put at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, finishing 28th overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kate Roach \u201915, MS \u201916<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Women\u2019s Rowing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nRoach was the first Big Red women\u2019s rower to be named an All-American three times, as well as the only athlete in program history to earn two first-team honors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After helping the U.S. varsity eight win gold at the 2014 U23 World Rowing Championships, she was named Collegiate Athlete of the Year in USRowing\u2019s annual Fans Choice Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jillian Saulnier \u201915<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Women\u2019s Ice Hockey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nA first-team All-American, Saulnier was a two-time first-team All-Ivy League and ECAC Hockey pick. In 125 career contests, she registered 80 goals, 114 assists, and 194 points while scoring 18 times on the power play and netting 12 game-winners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She earned a spot on two Olympic teams, helping Team Canada to gold in 2022 and silver in 2018. Saulnier also competed in four World Championships, winning a gold, a bronze, and two silver medals. Following her Big Red career, she played professionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mike Schafer \u201986<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Special Category<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nDuring a storied 30-year career, Schafer ranked second all-time among all Cornell head coaches in wins\u2014directing the Big Red men’s ice hockey team to seven ECAC tournament titles, six ECAC regular-season championships, and 13 Ivy titles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Schafer guided Cornell to 14 NCAA tournament appearances, including a trip to the 2003 Frozen Four. In 2020, he was a co-winner of the Spencer Penrose Award, given to the nation\u2019s top head coach. He was named ECAC Hockey\u2019s Coach of the Year five times and Ivy Coach of the Year four times. His teams were ranked in the top 20 of the USCHO.com poll 444 times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a student-athlete for the Big Red, Schafer was a four-year letterman and a two-year captain. He capped his collegiate career by leading the team to an ECAC championship and a number-five national ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jordan Stevens \u201915<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Men\u2019s Lacrosse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nStevens was a two-time All-American and a two-time unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection. The 21st overall pick of the 2015 Major League Lacrosse draft by the Rochester Rattlers, he played professionally for two seasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stevens joined the Big Red men\u2019s lacrosse staff in 2016, rising to associate head coach. During his seven seasons, Cornell won four Ivy championships, appeared in two NCAA finals, and captured the 2025 NCAA Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lindsay Toppe \u201915<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Women\u2019s Lacrosse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nToppe was Cornell\u2019s career leader in goals scored and was named Ivy Attacker of the Year. A three-time first-team All-Ivy selection, she graduated third in career points in Big Red team history, and had two of the top six single-season goal-scoring totals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was named to the Ivy\u2019s all-tournament team in her final season and served as a two-year team captain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
