A wealth of hockey memorabilia lines the walls\u2014from player portraits and team photos to signed jerseys. Multiple widescreen TVs are tuned to sports channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And watching serenely from above the well-stocked bar is a giant moose head\u2014nicknamed \u201cMonty\u201d in a nod to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe was an eBay purchase,\u201d notes Denis Ladouceur \u201902. \u201cWith the antlers, he barely made it in the door. The peppercorn gravy is made in house. Qu\u00e9bec cheese curds are a little hard to get your hands on, so we got Wisconsin cheese curds, which are just as good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A native of Ashcroft, BC, Ladouceur majored in economics on the Hill, where he played forward for the Big Red men\u2019s ice hockey team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI loved, loved Lynah Rink,\u201d he says, \u201cevery bit of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1999, he Hockey Association \u201cto a freshman player who best exhibits promise, camaraderie, and enthusiasm for the team and the University.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduation, Ladouceur played three serve as The Canuck\u2019s eventual inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe would go there all the time,\u201d he recalls. \u201cAs a Canadian in a foreign city, you want to go to a place that feels like home.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Ladouceur moved to NYC in 2005 to work in finance.
