The Good Housekeeping Seal, which products can earn (and which is backed by its own warranty), was introduced in 1909\u2014before the advent of modern government regulations on deceptive marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere was no FDA or FTC. For example, a diaper brand may claim to be the most absorbent because it holds 10 times its weight\u2014but how often would a baby actually be in that situation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div much runs off, then we\u2019ll do pooling tests to see how quickly it absorbs, and we\u2019ll do a re-wet test to see how well it holds all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sachs has helped the institute turn its results into not only compelling stories for the magazine and website, but also social media posts that have gone viral. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She and her team have created hit TikToks on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@goodhousekeepingofficial\/video\/7110243955417058606\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">how to properly clean your windows<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@goodhousekeepingofficial\/video\/7177042330338282795\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">how luggage is tested<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@goodhousekeepingofficial\/video\/7359676027192315178\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">things you didn\u2019t know you could machine wash<\/a>, and even <a is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>She notes that unlike past generations, today\u2019s audiences often have specific preferences and are already googling around for product recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And those searches, in turn, can help the labs focus their testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><figure href=\"https:\/\/www.goodhousekeeping.com\/institute\/about-the-institute\/a36050588\/gh-institute-product-tester\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">who test products<\/a> under real-world conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sachs and her family\u2014she and husband Andrew Sachs \u201901 have two daughters\u2014have tried out toys, kitchen equipment, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
