Cornell Service

Ms. Gadsby is an Emeritus Member of the President’s Council of Cornell Women and served as Co-Chair of the organization from 2016-17. She is a member of the ILR Alumni Association and a Life Member of the Cornell Black Alumni Association (CBAA). She also served as CBAA’s Vice President (1995-96) and then President (1996–1999). Ms. Gadsby is also a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network and served as a FRESH Extern Program Sponsor for multiple years. She served three terms as a member of Cornell University Council and also served on the Administrative Board of Council. She was an executive committee member of Mosaic and a governing committee member of the Cornell Alumni Magazine (2005–2010).


Professional Career

Linda Gadsby is vice president and deputy general counsel at Scholastic Inc., the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books. She serves on the Company’s Administrative Committee, is responsible for handling all labor, employment, and immigration law, and serves as the primary attorney for the Company’s Education, Book Fairs, and National Service Organization divisions. Previously, Linda worked at AlliedSignal and Kaye Scholer LLP.

Born in London, Linda spent her early years in Barbados and then moved to the Bronx, NY. She currently lives in South Orange, NJ with her son.
